About this condition
Rheumatic myocarditis is chronic or recurrent inflammation of the heart muscle due to previous rheumatic fever episodes. It often leads to permanent damage of heart valves and can cause heart failure if untreated. Regular medical follow-up and long-term antibiotic prophylaxis are necessary to prevent disease progression.
