About this condition
A type of inflammatory arthritis affecting the spine and lower back that develops after certain infections, particularly of the urinary tract or intestines. Also called reactive arthritis, it causes back pain, stiffness, and may also affect joints, eyes, and urinary system. Early treatment with anti-inflammatory medications helps control symptoms and prevent long-term damage.
