About this condition
Chronic tonsillitis is repeated or ongoing infection of the tonsils, the two oval pads at the back of your throat. Unlike acute tonsillitis, it persists for weeks or keeps coming back multiple times a year. Symptoms include persistent sore throat, bad breath, and difficulty swallowing that may require removal of tonsils in severe cases.
