About this condition

This is a rare lung disease where protein and other substances build up in the air sacs of the lungs, preventing proper oxygen exchange. Patients gradually develop breathing difficulty and may need special treatments to wash out the lungs. It can be caused by autoimmune problems, certain infections, or exposure to dusts and chemicals.
