About this condition
Agenesis of lung is a rare birth defect where one lung fails to develop completely during pregnancy, leaving the baby with only one functioning lung. Children with this condition may show breathing difficulties, chest asymmetry, or frequent chest infections. The severity depends on whether other heart or lung problems are also present.
