About this condition

Breast ptosis or sagging occurs when breasts lose their firmness and elasticity, causing them to droop downward with nipples pointing below the breast fold. This is a natural process commonly caused by aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, significant weight changes, or genetics. While ptosis itself is not medically harmful, it may cause physical discomfort or cosmetic concerns that can be addressed through supportive garments or, in some cases, cosmetic surgery.
