About this condition
This is a viral infection of the cervix caused by the herpes simplex virus, usually transmitted through sexual contact. Women may experience abnormal vaginal discharge, pelvic discomfort, and sometimes painful blisters in the genital area. While the virus cannot be cured, antiviral medications can manage symptoms and reduce transmission risk.
