About this condition
This is a group of blood disorders where the body lacks certain enzymes needed to keep red blood cells healthy, causing them to break down too early. Common enzyme deficiencies include G6PD deficiency, which can be triggered by certain foods like fava beans or medications. People experience tiredness, yellowing of skin, and dark urine when red blood cells are destroyed.
