About this condition
Old laceration of cervix uteri refers to a healed tear in the cervix, usually from childbirth trauma, that was not properly repaired at the time. This old scar tissue can cause symptoms like abnormal discharge, pain during intercourse, or irregular bleeding. Most women with old cervical lacerations have no symptoms, but examination during routine checkups can detect it.
