About this condition
This is a life-threatening form of tetanus that occurs in mothers during or shortly after childbirth, usually due to unclean delivery practices or infected wounds. The infection causes severe muscle stiffness, painful spasms, and difficulty breathing. Prevention through vaccination before pregnancy and clean delivery practices is critical.
