About this condition

Breech presentation occurs when the baby is positioned feet-first or bottom-first instead of head-first in the womb before delivery. This is common in earlier pregnancy but most babies turn head-down by the third trimester. Regular monitoring and sometimes external cephalic version or planned cesarean delivery may be needed.
