About this condition

Hypertensive urgency is when blood pressure rises to very high levels (typically above 180/120 mmHg) but without immediate organ damage. Though uncomfortable and concerning, it is less dangerous than hypertensive emergency. Prompt medical attention is needed to safely lower blood pressure over hours to days to prevent complications.
