About this condition
Swollen and enlarged veins that appear in the genital or vulvar area during early pregnancy, caused by increased blood volume and pressure from the growing uterus. While usually not dangerous, these varicose veins can cause discomfort and may worsen as pregnancy progresses. Most resolve after delivery, but symptoms can be managed with rest, supportive garments, and avoiding prolonged standing.
