About this condition

Eisenmenger's syndrome develops when a congenital heart defect with a hole between heart chambers goes untreated for years, causing blood to flow abnormally and damage the lung blood vessels. This results in bluish skin color due to low oxygen levels and severely limits physical activity. Early detection and treatment of heart defects in childhood can prevent this serious complication.
