About this condition
A tear develops in the inner lining of a brain artery, allowing blood to flow between the vessel wall layers and potentially causing stroke. This can happen spontaneously or after head/neck trauma, vigorous exercise, or sudden movements. Young to middle-aged adults are commonly affected and it requires urgent medical evaluation.
