About this condition
This stroke affects the right anterior cerebral artery which supplies blood to the front portions of the brain including areas controlling leg movement, decision-making, and emotions. Patients typically experience weakness mainly in the left leg, personality changes, difficulty with planning and judgment, and sometimes loss of bladder control. Because the anterior cerebral artery stroke can affect thinking and behavior, family members may notice the symptoms before the patient does.
