About this condition
This is a stroke caused by blockage in the left carotid artery in the neck that supplies the left side of the brain. Since the left brain controls the right side of the body and often speech centers, patients may have right-sided weakness and difficulty speaking. Emergency care within the first few hours is crucial for recovery.
