About this condition
This is one of the most dangerous types of stroke where the basilar artery, a major blood vessel at the base of the brain supplying the brainstem, gets blocked. The brainstem controls vital functions like breathing, heart rate, and consciousness. This stroke has very high mortality and requires immediate emergency intervention to save life.
