About this condition

This is a stroke caused by a blood clot blocking one of the various arteries supplying the brain, other than those specifically named in other categories. When brain tissue loses its blood supply, cells begin dying within minutes, causing symptoms like sudden weakness, speech problems, or vision loss depending on which brain area is affected. Every minute counts in getting emergency treatment to restore blood flow.
