About this condition

An extremely severe stroke where both posterior cerebral arteries are blocked simultaneously, affecting the visual processing areas on both sides of the brain. This rare condition can cause complete blindness (cortical blindness), severe memory loss, hallucinations, and inability to recognize faces or objects. This is a life-threatening emergency requiring immediate intensive care to prevent death or permanent severe disability.
