About this condition

Carcinoma in situ of the colon is an early-stage condition where abnormal cells are found on the inner lining of the colon but have not yet invaded deeper tissues. Often detected during colonoscopy screening, this pre-cancerous stage is highly treatable with removal of the affected tissue. Regular screening after age 45-50 is important for early detection and prevention of colon cancer.
