About this condition
An aneurysm of the renal artery is an abnormal bulging or ballooning in the wall of the blood vessel that supplies the kidney. Most are discovered by chance during imaging tests and cause no symptoms. However, if it ruptures or grows large, it can cause sudden severe pain, bleeding, and kidney damage requiring emergency treatment.
