About this condition
Also known as Hurst disease, this is an extremely rare and aggressive brain condition that causes sudden inflammation and bleeding in the white matter of the brain. It progresses rapidly over hours to days and requires immediate intensive care treatment. The condition can follow viral infections or vaccinations in rare cases.
