About this condition
A severe bacterial infection caught from contact with water contaminated by rat or animal urine, common during monsoon flooding in India. It causes high fever with jaundice (yellow eyes and skin) and internal bleeding, requiring immediate hospital treatment. Without prompt care, it can lead to kidney failure, liver damage, and can be life-threatening.
