About this condition
Transitory tyrosinemia is a temporary condition in newborns where the amino acid tyrosine builds up in the blood due to immature liver enzymes. It usually resolves on its own within the first few weeks of life and rarely causes symptoms. Most cases are detected during routine newborn screening and need only monitoring.
