Rett's syndrome

Rett's syndrome is a rare genetic neurological disorder that primarily affects girls, causing severe impairment in motor skills, communication, and cognitive development after a period of normal early growth. Affected children lose the ability to use their hands purposefully and develop characteristic repetitive hand-wringing movements. While there is no cure, multidisciplinary care including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and medications can help manage symptoms.
