About this condition
This is a life-threatening emergency where seizures occur continuously without the person regaining consciousness in between, lasting more than 5 minutes or occurring back-to-back. It can involve various types of epilepsy that are generally responsive to treatment but have entered a dangerous continuous state requiring immediate hospitalization.
