About this condition
Mumps orchitis is a complication of mumps infection where the virus causes painful swelling of one or both testicles, typically occurring in adolescent or adult males. This condition develops a few days after the characteristic cheek swelling of mumps appears. While uncomfortable, most cases resolve with supportive care, though rarely it may affect future fertility if both testicles are severely involved.
