About this condition

Hypnic headache is a rare type of headache that awakens people from sleep, usually at the same time each night, typically affecting older adults above 50 years. The pain is usually mild to moderate, affecting both sides of the head, and lasts from 15 minutes to several hours. Unlike other nighttime headaches, it does not occur with tearing or nasal symptoms.
