About this condition

Food protein-induced enteropathy is an immune reaction affecting the intestines, commonly seen in infants and young children, where certain food proteins trigger inflammation and damage to the gut lining. Cow's milk protein is the most common trigger, though soy and other proteins can also cause it. Symptoms usually improve when the offending protein is removed from the diet.
