About this condition

Developmental odontogenic cysts are fluid-filled sacs that develop in the jawbones from tooth-forming tissues, often discovered during routine dental X-rays. These cysts can form around unerupted teeth or from remnants of tooth development and gradually expand, potentially displacing teeth or causing jaw deformity. While usually painless, they require dental or surgical intervention to prevent complications and bone damage.
